Introduction

Welcome to SVCS 2014

July 3 - 5, 2014, Belgrade, Serbia

The International Symposium on Stability, Vibration, and Control of Machines and Structures (SVCS 2014) will take place at the Hotel Moskva, on July 3rd - 5th, 2014.

The ten previous symposia in the series were held in University of Virginia, Charlottesville, USA (1993), Ottawa Congress Center, Ottawa, Canada (1998), Chateau Laurier, Ottawa, Canada (1999), Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada (2000), McGill University, Montreal, Canada (2001), Johannes Kepler University, Linz, Austria (2002), Technical University of Graz, Austria (2003), the Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic (2004), Hotel Flamingo, Albena, Bulgaria (2011, 2013).

As a tradition SVCS has been always organized by the Institute of Structronics together with members of the local universities and research institutions. It is sponsored by several learned societies and book publishing or International R&D companies.

Objectives

The aim of this Symposium is to bring together engineers and scientists who are concerned with modeling, analysis, measurement and control of nonlinear systems. It is hoped that this conference will stimulate cross-fertilization of different disciplines involved in stability, nonlinear vibrations and control of systems to promote the fundamentals as well as industrial applications. Particular emphasis is laid on applications on emerging areas such as modeling and control of complex systems, bioengineering, mechatronics, structronics, fluidics, optoelectronic sensors, nanotechnology, and intelligent system design.

We invite you to participate and take the benefit from this event. We also wish all authors a lot of success in finding new contacts and partnerships in order to transfer knowledge and best practices to your countries as well as to find new scientific discoveries. Feel free to join us and find new possibilities and trends in modern age.

We are looking forward to meeting you in Belgrade.
